GS1 Resolver: The key to interoperable & transparent traceability
GS1 Resolver connects each product to its digital information (such as traceability, product passport, or sustainability data) in compliance with GS1's international standards. Thanks to its dynamic structure, it allows a single code to provide secure and up-to-date access to product data, reinforcing transparency and interoperability within circular ecosystems.

What's GS1 Resolver?
GS1 Resolver is a standardized digital infrastructure that connects GS1 identifiers (such as product codes, batches, or serial numbers) with all the digital information associated with them.
Its function is to act as a reliable link between the physical and digital worlds, allowing each product's data to be organized, updated, and available to any system or platform.
Through the Resolver, companies can publish and manage their product information in a centralized manner, guaranteeing consistency and interoperability between different environments: from regulatory platforms to digital passports and traceability solutions.
Integrated in CircularPass, GS1 Resolver offers a solid basis for transparency and regulatory compliance, helping to build more open, reliable and sustainable digital ecosystems.
How GS1 Resolver works
The integration of GS1 Resolver in CircularPass allows organizing and connecting all the digital information related to a product under an internationally recognized standard. Thanks to this functionality, each product has a unique and verifiable digital identity, which can be easily updated and shared between different systems or partners.
Registration and publication of information
Each product or asset is represented by a GS1 identifier (such as GTIN, batch or series) and its URI is constructed according to the GS1 Digital Link standard. All relevant information, such as traceability data, sustainability or technical documentation is linked to that identifier within the Resolver.
Resolution and dynamic management
The GS1 Resolver internally manages the linking rules between identifiers and resources. It allows updating destinations, adding new links or versioning the information without altering the identifier or modifying the existing infrastructure.
Access to interoperable information
Thanks to its compatibility with GS1 standard formats (such as JSON-LD, EPCIS or Verifiable Credentials), GS1 Resolver guarantees interoperability between platforms and systems. This allows products to be connected to wider ecosystems, such as CircularPass, and to facilitate their integration with digital passports, traceability platforms or regulatory systems.
