For companies, this means gradually moving from regulatory analysis to preparing the systems, data and identifiers needed to implement DPPs in practice.<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The European Commission refers to this infrastructure as the <strong>DPP Registry<\/strong>. Its role is to act as the European indexing service for Digital Product Passports linked to products that are subject to this obligation, providing a common infrastructure for their identification and verification across the EU market.<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">However, from a company\u2019s perspective, registration is only one part of the process. Before a product reaches the DPP Registry, several operational questions need to be addressed: <strong>Where is the product data stored? How is the product identified? Who owns and maintains the information? How is it updated? How do internal systems connect?
